About Spirit Walker
Since 1987, Spirit Walker Expeditions has been leading Southeast Alaska kayaking trips that focus on an experience that’s fun, adventurous, and provides an opportunity to learn in-depth about the region’s diverse ecosystems. Our name reflects the goal of immersing ourselves and our clients in the spirit of nature.
Our goal is to protect and preserve wilderness areas, to educate our guests about environmentally sound camping techniques, and educate the public about the ecology of nature through quality guided wilderness trips.
Experience
We’ve been doing this since 1987, making our company the longest-running, locally-owned operation of our kind. Spirit Walker Expeditions conducts trips within the Tongass National Forest with the approval of special use permits.
We’ve also pioneered additional trips beyond the Tongass that have been thoroughly researched and well-practiced by our experienced local guides in order to offer our clients the best opportunities for wildlife-viewing and experiencing scenic beauty. Additionally, these trips were developed to spread out visits over a greater range, which helps minimize impact upon these fragile ecosystems.
Ultimately, our skilled guides and high quality equipment are what make our kayak trips truly unique.
Spirit Walker Expeditions operates trips in the Tongass National Forest – the nation’s largest – under special use permit from the US Forest Service, Hoonah Ranger District, PO Box 135, Hoonah, AK 99829.
